Electroconvulsive Therapy
A form of mental health treatment involving the application of an electric stimulus to a patient's brain in order to produce an artificial, generalized seizure.

The treatment has been traditionally used to treat mood disorders, such as depression and mania, as well as certain schizophrenic disorders.
