The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 is more commonly known as "EGTRRA."
This law changes the applicable exclusion amount and phases out the Federal estate tax, which is repealed in 2010. Under EGTRRA the Federal estate tax is scheduled to return in 2011.
