Intestate Estate
All of a decedent's property that can be controlled by a will, but which is not actually subject to the terms of a valid will at the time of death.
For purposes of distribution, the actual intestate estate will be the value of all your individually owned property that remains after the payment of all your estate's administration expenses, such as attorney's fees, funeral costs, debts, and, where applicable, the family exemption.
