Permanently Unconscious
With regard to Living Wills, a total and irreversible loss of consciousness and the capacity to interact with the environment, including an irreversible vegetative state or irreversible coma.

If this condition is used to cause a Living Will to become effective, the condition must be diagnosed by the attending physician with reasonable medical certainty according to currently accepted medical standards.
