Probate
The process of verifying that a document offered to the
Register of Wills
meets the criteria of a valid will under
Pennsylvania law. A will that is not accepted for probate has been
determined invalid and its instructions cannot be followed.
Probate also refers to the process of
administration performed
by the
personal representative.
