State of Permanent Unconsciousness
With regard to Living Wills,
a total and irreversible loss of consciousness and loss of the capacity to
interact with the environment, including a persistent vegetative state or
irreversible coma.
The condition must be diagnosed with reasonable medical certainty according
to currently accepted medical standards in order to cause a Living Will to
become effective.
