Step-Child
Any child whose natural or adopted parent is legally married to a person who
is not that child's natural or adopted parent.
Any person within this category is properly referred to as "step-child"
regardless of age.
A step-child is not classified as a child for purposes of
will
interpretation. However, a step-child is within the same class as children
for purposes of Pennsylvania inheritance
tax rates.
