Taxable Estate
All property remaining in a
decedent's
estate following the payment of
all allowable deductions, such as funeral expenses and debts.
This phrase is typically used in reference to the
Federal estate tax, which
also deducts all property passing to a surviving spouse from the deceased
spouse's estate.
