Tenancy in Common
A form of undivided ownership
without a
right of survivorship.
Each owner has the power to transfer his or her portion independently and
without including the other owners, which allows each owner's
will to control the individually owned portion at
death.
In Pennsylvania, this is the default form of ownership between multiple
parties who are not married and do not specify a right of survivorship in
the document by which they acquire ownership.
