Mental Health Living Will, When Effective
Although a mental health living will is valid at the moment it signed and delivered to your attending physician or one of your mental health care providers, its instructions will only be followed when a psychiatrist and at least one other mental health care professional determines that you are incapable of making mental health care decisions independently.

Before this determination is made the terms and instructions of a mental health living will cannot be followed.
