Agent, Eligibility
Any competent adult or entity may be
nominated to serve as the
primary agent
or the alternate agent under a
power of attorney.
As of January 29, 2007, a selected
health care agent may not
be the
principal's
attending physician, health care provider, or the owner, operator, or
employee of a health care
provider
in which the principal is receiving health care services. An exception to
this rule is made for those who are related to the principal by blood or
marriage.
