Powers, Scope
Each power that is granted allows the
agent to act with the same authority as the
principal. In fact, an agent's authority is so great that the
agent is often said to "stand in the principal's shoes." This phrase
describes the agent's authority to perform every action that the principal
has the ability to perform, just as though the agent and the principal are
the same person.
Even though the agent's authority is equal to the principal's authority, the
agent is legally obligated and limited to exercising any powers solely for
the principal's best interests.
