Primary Beneficiaries, Eligibility
Any person or entity may be named as
the primary beneficiary of
your
residuary estate or as
the primary beneficiary of a
specific gift.
You may name just one primary
beneficiary to receive your entire residuary estate or you may also
choose to name an unlimited number of primary beneficiaries to share your
residuary estate. However, if you are creating a
will that gives your spouse less than one-third of your estate, your
spouse may defeat your will's
instructions by choosing to take the
elective share provided by Pennsylvania law.
