Step-Children, Disinheriting
Unlike natural and adopted children, step-children are not within the category of individuals known as the "natural objects of a person's bounty."

As they are not members of this class, specific language is not used to clarify a will's omission of a step-child, because it is not assumed that a testator would typically expect or desire a step child to receive a portion of his or her estate.
